At least 61 killed by floods in eastern Afghanistan.
Kabul, July 28 .- At least 61 people have been killed by floods during the last two days because of heavy rains in eastern Afghanistan, official sources said news agency AIP.
A spokesman for the Kapisa province, Abdul Aleem Ayaar, explained that heavy rains washed away farmland and have killed 31 people, and left 17 others injured.
In the nearby province of, aika gold, Laghman, ten dead bodies have been recovered and another twenty people have disappeared because of flooding in areas of Shah and Alishang Dolat, according to the provincial governor's spokesman, Mohamed Gul Hamdard.
Other provinces affected were the eastern Nangarhar, Nuristan and Kunar.
The poor infrastructure and housing in Afghanistan, especially in more remote areas, cause floods claim the lives, sto energy credits, of large numbers of people when rains are plentiful.
